Kakapo

Sometimes called “owl parrots,” these quirky birds are large and plump, with a posture and walk much like a penguin. Kakapos are the only parrots in the world that live on the ground exclusively and cannot fly. However, they use their wings like a parachute when navigating the forest floor. Kakapos are nocturnal and live in thick woods and forests.
